COTF Grant Guidelines

Banana Man Schools and community groups/agencies in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson, Virginia are invited to apply to the Childhood Obesity Task Force for grant funding up to $1000. Proposals should strive to increase physical activity and/or healthy eating among children, teens and their families.

WHAT WE FUND:

  • Proposals for new initiatives that focus on acquisition of knowledge and/or skills in the areas of physical activity and/or nutrition
  • Programs that focus on attaining and maintaining healthy behaviors and not specifically on weight loss

WHAT WE DON'T FUND:

  • Proposals to continue an already existing program
  • Proposals to provide healthy snacks without an educational/behavioral component
  • Proposals to purchase equipment/supplies for a one-time event
  • Proposals submitted from outside our area (our area is: Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson)

We accept applications on an ongoing basis.
